Search for "free forex signals" and you will find thousands of channels giving away trade calls. If free signals exist, why would anyone pay? Because in the signal world, you are usually not the customer — you are the product. Here is how each model really works.

How free signal channels make money

Running a signal service takes real time. Nobody does it for charity. Free channels monetize you in one of these ways:

Broker affiliate deals. The most common. The channel pushes you to sign up with "their broker" through a referral link. Many such brokers profit when clients lose money — so the channel earns from your deposits, not your success. The incentive is backwards.

Bait for an expensive upsell. Free calls are the teaser; the "real" signals cost 100-500 USD a month for a "VIP" tier. The free channel exists to funnel you there.

Pump groups. In crypto especially, free channels are used to build a crowd that buys what the owners already hold. You are the exit liquidity.

What "paid" should actually mean

A fair paid service flips the incentive: you pay a small, transparent fee, and that fee IS the business. No broker kickbacks, no upsells, no games. The provider profits by keeping subscribers happy month after month — which only works if the signals are genuinely good.

That only holds if the price is honest. A fair signals subscription costs about what the analysis time is worth — not hundreds of dollars a month with "lifetime VIP" pressure tactics.

The comparison that matters

  • Free channel: costs nothing upfront; incentive is usually your deposits or your losses.
  • Overpriced VIP: costs 100-500 USD monthly; must constantly recruit new members to replace disappointed ones.
  • Fairly priced service: costs about the price of a takeaway meal; survives only on subscriber satisfaction and a public track record.

How to protect yourself either way
